Today:

— Renamed most of the major characters. Again. But maybe these names will stick.
— Rewrote the interlude. Again. But I’m happier with it.
— Filled out complete character study sheet on the father character.
— Did 500 words on the next chapter.…

Yeah, I’ve been hiding. RL have been, well, interesting, I guess you could say.

Am writing on the novel again, have finished the interlude, and have started the next chapter. Am hoping to start the word count again soon.

Though I plan on updating here more, I have no idea if I actually will or not.…

Word count: 691.
Reason for quitting: Finished chapter 1.

Hate it. Hate the whole thing. Will rewrite tomorrow. The events are correct, but the character arc needs reshaping. So probably no word count tomorrow, just a redoing of what I did today.…

Which I’m actually really happy with doing even though it’s the weekend and I should be doing more like 2000. But I *am* happy that I got something, anything, done, particularly considering that I didn’t get any sleep last night, I feel like shit and the chest cold from hell has decided that my chest is a good place to homestead.…

I received a letter offering me a position in the new merged company on Saturday, not a severance package.

Being laid off wouldn’t have been terrible, but still being employed isn’t awful either.

There are at least 14 documents I have to read through and sign – but I have a week in which to do it.…

Sorry – haven’t been around much – came down with the cold from hell that morphed into a sinus infection. I’ve completely lost my voice again. Plus I’ve been working really hard at the day job. I hope to be back soon.…

Well – as some of you may have seen today – Oracle bought PeopleSoft. I’ve worked for PeopleSoft for the past 7 years, doing technical writing.

Am I out of a job immediately? No.

But sometime over the next year? Quite possibly.…
