Novel stuff and formatting

Quick novel stuff: 500 words, and it was just flowing and I *really* wish I didn’t have to go to the day job today because I’d probably just take a break and write 500 more. But I need to run reports every Friday morning, so can’t just take off. May run the reports and run back and write more — we’ll see.

Formatting stuff: I went to the WisCon site, and davidlevine was correct — there’s nothing there about manuscript format. I know that there used to be — I checked — it was there for the last two years. I’m not sure why it was dropped this year. I won’t come down too hard on the participants this year — but they’re still getting the maunscript format lecture (which tltrent heard that one year.)

dancinghorse was also correct — I’m not complaining so much about curling quotes versus straight. It’s little things like numbering the pages of your manuscript, using a font that’s difficult to read and *way* too small, justifying the text on both sides. (I mean, come on, I would think that even if you’re using a difficult to read font you might at least think about putting page numbers on your manuscript, right?)
