Essay – Migraines Without Meds

I’ve written before about my migraines. Quite a few times, actually. So I’m trying to not repeat what I’ve told y’all before. However, I’m still starting with a quick recap:

Things and Stuff

Had a migraine yesterday. It was the first migraine I’ve had in 204 days. I’m quite proud of that streak, actually. It’s a lot longer than I ever imagined I’d go without having a migraine.

What caused the migraine? I was stupid and had caffeine three days in a row, with a couple of extra days thrown in just before that.

Migraine Free, 180 Days…

And counting!

This is the longest I’ve gone without a migraine in 40 years.

For those of you just joining us or not playing along at home, I’ve had migraines since I was 18, generally 2 per month. They turned nasty back in 2015, and I started having 12-15 migraines every month.

Migraine Monday

Woke up with a pretty bad migraine this morning. I figure it’s the emotional and physical stress from last week catching up with me. Plus, working outside in all that heat, and possibly slightly dehydrated.

I averaged well over 11K steps per day last week, even though I had one day where I only walked 7K.

Migraine

Woke up yesterday with a bad headache, that transmuted into a migraine after a few hours. It was absolutely not a migraine when I first woke up. I was able to go to the gym and do yoga. It wasn’t until a couple hours later that it finally changed.
