Writing update
I’ve finished the rewrites on the prologue and chapter one so far. I’ve changed the one character’s back story, as well as his characterization, quite a bit from the first draft. I knew that I would need to. He didn’t really make himself known to me until much later in the novel, where he stood

It’s official!
My last day of my current job with PeopleSoft (Oracle) will be March 9th. I’m going to take a week off, then on March 19th, I’m going to start work for Salesforce.com. (The Google opportunity wasn’t a good fit I’m afraid.) I’m sad to be leaving my old job and my existing boss and co-workers.

I finished typing up chapter 15 today. It turned out longer than expected, coming in at around 5500 words. 83,449 / 100,000(83.4%) So if the next two chapters are both around 5000 words, that’ll bring me to 93K total. That’s actually about average for me for a first draft. I always write “short” as it
