WHEEEE!!!!
I just finished typing up the novel!
Here’s the final, official word count:
|
Before I start the rewrites, I’m going to spend some time thinking about the novel. I have a list of things that I already want to fix, some minor, others, not so much. But I need to think for a while, let it all soak in before I start ripping it apart. Live with it awhile so I can see where it isn’t breathing well.
Thanks to one and all for all your encouragement through this process! I started this novel September 15th. I finished it in 4 1/2 months. If I hadn’t gotten sick, it probably wouldn’t have taken me that long. I’m figuring two months for the rewrite, handing the full thing to the people who have bravely volunteered to critique this thing (maybe first of April? comments back by the end of April?) Then doing another rewrite and sending it to my agent by the end of May.
Again — SQUEEEE! (Sorry, more coherent commentary when my brain finds me again.)
CONGRATULATIONS! That’s so exciting!
Thanks fantastic, Abbie! Good for you!
Congratulations!! Four and a half months. Wow.
*twirls you ’round*

Huzzah and much rejoicing. Find something wonderful to reward yourself with!!!. Crowd sounds and trumpets. Getting a book finished is a great thing.
Yay!

New to blogging yesterday! Went all the way back to 9/15 and scanned forward to get an idea of what your novel is about. Sounds like fantasy…do you have a jacket cover blurb about it (in a nut shell)?
Rewriting is a grand time (the first few times around)–enjoy!
Yaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations on finishing!

Hooray!!!! (Humming happy little tune while looking forward to reading this book with smart characters and a mouse, however summer-ghostlike.)
The bookseller part of me rubs her hands together and cackles gleefully, because someday it will appear in a catalog, and then materialize in a carton, and then people will buy it!
And it will not be a paranormal romance featuring a curiously smooth-chested Scotsman-who-is-also-a-werewolf on the cover, so I will not have to wail and gnash my teeth when the carton arrives. And that gives me hope for the future . . .

Inspiration and perspiration make a great novel. And if my muse looked like that I’d be sweating…
