Yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve updated. Things are good, but busy.
One of the things I’ve been trying to do is get back into some healthy habits. To that end, I made food this weekend to eat over the week. I made a steak (it was on sale!) and chicken. The steak I just broiled, after doing a dry rub of garlic, ginger, pepper and salt. The chicken — I first took a bunch of mushrooms and cooked them in butter. Then I put the chicken into my lovely Staub Cocotte with the cooked mushrooms, filled the pot about 1/3 high with orange juice, added a dash of red wine (I had thought it was white wine, so the red was a mistake, but it didn’t hurt the dish.) Plus various seasonings — salt, pepper, and ginger. I cooked it for 1 1/2 hours. Fall off the bones meat, tender, juicy and sweet and yummy. I had that for dinner with brussles sprouts (they’re just starting to come in — fresh and green) and my fabulous cabbage salad.
Yesterday I made lemon yogurt muffins — not completely fat-free, as there’s some butter in the recipe, but not as fat-full as they could be — I used fat-free yogurt. And the cabbage salad. So hopefully I’m set for the week.
The rewrite is going pretty well. I’m well into the second character edit now. Peri is in much better shape than anyone else, which I’d suspected. I’ve been able to do about a chapter a day with her, so will hopefully be finished with her edit by the end of the week.
I continue to be amazed at how effective the 100 day push has been in terms of getting my butt into the chair and editing, revising, every day. Not all days are equal in terms of the quality of work that I’m doing, but I am doing it.
I hope that ya’ll have had a wonderful weekend, and are looking forward to next week as well!
Oh — and Happy Valentine’s Day!
Happy valentine’s day! All that food sounds yummy. Yeah!
I don’t cook like this all the time. Whether or not I *should* is up for debate. But when I do manage to cook, I do try to make really tasty dishes because I’m going to be eating them for quite a few days in a row. . .

Can you please modify your RSS feed so that it’s a full feed of the content in your blog posts? Right now, it’s just the title, which is painful. Thanks Leah!
