Time

It’s SO NICE to have time again. I can’t even begin to express how happy it makes me. To have time to have a life again.

We had wind storms this afternoon. And no power for probably close to 1 1/2 hours. Which is nothing, I know, compared to last year when people didn’t have power for a week or more.

I just realized that I’m doing the same thing this year that I did last year. I would not write for a day or two, and get all weirded out, that OMG I must not be drawn in enough by this novel, it must not be driving me enough, etc. Then, like tonight, I suddenly find an extra hour or so on my hands, and I start to write. And I write. And I write. And 8 pages later, I finish the next scene and life is SO GOOD and I love this novel, I love what I’m writing and I love the magic and how it’s manifesting as well as the insanity and and and . . .

Yeah. So it goes. I actually am completely obsessed by this novel. I just have to listen to myself to hear it sometimes.

I’d like to get back into the writing almost every day habit. I feel like I’m easing back into it, and that though I missed a couple days this week, that next week, I can write more days. I wrote more days this week than last week, so. . . I think it’s doable. I’d like to write every day for the month of November, kind of a poor man’s NaNoWriMo: instead of a specific word count, just getting words every day. I think I can make that happen.

Tomorrow is going to be a grand and glorious day. As a treat for myself, I’ve hired someone to come in and CLEAN. She’s going to earn every penny I’m afraid. And I will have clean windows and floors. YAY!
