Regular weekends

Well, mostly.

I didn’t write yesterday (Saturday) morning. Friday I ate something I shouldn’t have, and so ended up with a migraine. Didn’t take migraine medicine for it, though, as it was so mild I figured it would go away after sleep. I was wrong, and by the time I woke up Saturday morning it had turned severe. So I took migraine medicine, went back to bed.

Then Saturday afternoon I went out to eat and ended up eating something that I shouldn’t have. I ended up with a killer migraine. I refused to take migraine medicine though — I thought I could get over it, that it was just sugar or something stupid. It didn’t occur to me until this morning that this particular item of food is what had caused my migraine. I don’t know why I get so stubborn about not taking my medicine when I obviously should. But I didn’t, and so was in far too much pain last night to write, even though I had plenty of time.

This morning I finished chapter five. Though the chapter needs a lot of rewriting, which I’ll get to when I type it up, I’m still pleased with it. There are a few great scenes and some wonderful images. It’s also an action chapter, which the flow of the book needed.

Now I just need to figure out what happens in chapter six. I’d like for chapter six to be another action chapter. Not quite sure how to manage that, but I will. I’m really looking forward to chapter six. Much of this novel so far has been following along the general ideas that I’ve had for a while. However, I have no idea what’s going to happen in chapter six. It’s time to jump off the cliff again. Before this chapter, I’ve known where the thermals were, had a pretty good idea how to get there. This time? Not a clue. Which is more exhilarating than scary. I may even start it this afternoon or this evening, because I am so excited about the whole prospect.
