the good and the bad

The bad: I think I’m coming down with another cold. So no tea for me tonight.

The good: I’m going to try to write anyway.

Other good: Library thing. It’s strangely addictive. I have maybe 1/3rd of my books online now — you’ll find my library here.

  1. Library

    Billy Whiskers? The Land of Oz? Can you tell me why those appealed to you? I happen to have both of those, Billy Whiskers was my father’s book when he was a kid. I have a lot of interesting art deco children’s books.

    What is your favorite children’s book? Beth

      Billy Whiskers — I loved it as a kid. I think it was because Billy was a trouble maker, and he got into trouble and then ran away. I haven’t read it for years, but it was one of my favorite books as a kid.

      The Land of Oz — as a child, I loved the transformation of Tip into Ozma. And I loved the Sawhorse and Pumpkin head. Plus, it’s the second edition of the book, with beautiful full-color full-page illustrations, along with the line drawings. The other L. Frank Baum I have is “The Sea Fairies” — again, beautifully illustrated, and the wonderful transformations of human to mer-creature.

      I have several favorite favorites — like The Sea Fairies, and Ano’s book (where you tell the story). Young adult — “Hawkmistress” by MZB.

    1. Hope you’re feeling better! I’m on the good antibiotics, and I’m actually feeling mostly better at this point.

      ::hugs::
