The good news is that I finished this pass of the rewrites of the novel this weekend! Whee!
The bad news is that I am now reading the novel out loud. Which means I’m not going to tea tonight. I really need to read out loud, and I can’t do that at the tea shop.
I’m reading in six-page chunks — really focusing and concentrating on the pages in my hand, then updating the file, then printing out the next section and reading out loud some more. This is a new process — I used to do a chapter at a time — but I’m hoping that I’ll be able to maintain more concentration by doing it in smaller chunks. We’ll see how it goes.
I had a chuckle over an image of you reading in a tea shop, for everyone would stare. Might be fun to try. Great to hear about the huge progress.
I’d actually thought about going anyway — stepping outside to read while walking up and down on the sidewalk, then going back into the shop to write. See — I generally pace when I’m reading out loud. Which is the other reason why the tea shop just won’t work.
