You know. That thing that I’m not working on?
Well — I didn’t spend this morning and a large chunk of this afternoon typing in everything that I’d written out by hand so far. All 2000+ words of it.
And I didn’t spend last night researching it. And I’m not planning on doing the same tonight.
And I don’t have a title. As well as a fairly good grasp of not just the plot but some of the subplots. As well as the various characters. And the major rises and falls. And, okay, maybe even a sequel. (I did mention that this was high, epic fantasy, right? Not historic fantasy? And that I could easily see it turning into a, gasp, series?)
All right — so I actually do have all of that.
What I don’t have is an outline. Now — I’ve always outlined my novels. And maybe at some point I’m going to need to do that with this one as well. But for right now I’m resisting, and just going with the flow. And enjoying the heck out of it.
Quite frankly, I’m so excited about this new project that I can’t even express it except to bounce up and down and squee.
So — SQUEEE!!!!
I squee with you! 🙂
Hee! I’m still so excited about this book it isn’t funny. I keep reminding myself that I’ve only had it in my head for two days. Still. SO EXCITED. I had problems falling asleep last night as I keep thinking and my brain kept fermenting and ideas were spilling over and. . .
I think you get the picture.
Squee!
It sounds like it’s time to break out the snoopy-dance. w00t!
This is my happy icon. Happy happy!
This is one of my happy icons. Sushi!
You go girl.
Thanks! Feels so good to be back in the groove, you know?
Yes, I do. Very much so.
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Keep working on that thing you’re not working on!
Honestly, I don’t feel as though I have much choice. This thing has eaten my brain, but in a good way. Hope all is going well with you!
I’ve managed to paint myself into one heck of a timing corner, and should be a basket case by month’s end. But then J5 will be drafted and sent to editor and I’ll be able to sleep again.
Enjoy!
Thank you! You too!

Race onward. The outline means nothing while you’re running!
Hmmm. What it does mean, so far, is that I’m still handwriting everything, then, when I type it in, I do *heavy* revision. And a lot of chronological rearranging — I just write things as they occur to me, then in the typing, put them into the write places.
Writing like this, so far, has been exillerating. Hopefully it will continue!
