I did not just spend the last couple of hours with a new writing prompt, “Write about someone who goes too far.”
I did not just write the prologue to what could easily turn into a new novel. An epic fantasy novel at that.
I am not currently absolutely fascinated with this idea, this world, this whole new venture for me. I am absolutely not spending the rest of the day writing an outline for this novel that I’m not going to write until I finish the current one. Really not thinking about how it might be easier to write this than the story I’m currently working on. Really.
Then again, if writing this new project excites me this much, and it isn’t just the new project being more sexy than the old project, I may change my mind. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow morning, see what I really want to write.
C’mon, turn on the faucet and let the light pour!
I have been, actually. It’s been lovely to indulge in it all day. We’ll see what the morning brings, but for now, I’m going for it.
Sounds good! Have fun!
(And allow yourself to do whichever project interests you more right now. No, really.) 🙂
I actually think that’s great advice for me right now — to do the project that interests me the most right now. I know that it might partly be new-project sexiness, but after spending the day with it, I keep thinking that no, this is what I actually need to work on.
Good luck with that. 🙂
*snerk*
Yeah. And turning it away is just not going to happen, or be good for me.
Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes.
Hee! Yes. I think I need to say yes to this project as well.
I meant to email you to let you know that there’s an interesting crane near here, you’ll see it from 13th and Madison or so. It struck me as interesting as it seems so visible above the older buildings as you come up Madison.
Thanks! I might check it out. I’ll be driving around tomorrow.
Methinks the lady doth protest too much. 😉
Quite possible. 🙂
I’ve stopped fighting it so much now. I’m going to see what happens tomorrow, if I’m still as excited about it in the morning.
Its those ones that strike you out of the blue that end up seeming to work the best in the end…

That hasn’t always been the case with me — I generally work more according to a plan. But I’m willing to see how working on something this out of the blue will work for me — willing to change my process and my plans.

Story of my life. Then again, I have turned from denial to embrace my ADD.
::embraces you *and* your ADD::
This is just really different for me. And I’m going to let it be what it is, and not force myself to follow old habits that may, in fact, have been killing me.
