Novel stats

Got another 500 words done today. Kind of in a rush, but hey, they’re there! And I don’t hate them all!

The good news — even though I was rushed this morning (slept in and didn’t exercise for various reasons) — even though it’s been a very short period of time that I’ve been writing every day, I can sense the groove. I’m not back into the habit yet, but I also know that it won’t take much more than a week or so before I *am* back into the habit, where it starts to feel bad when I don’t do it. I’m so very used to writing almost every day. This not doing it has been an aberration for me. It was an odd feeling this morning, sensing that groove, knowing that it’s right *there* — just out of my grasp. Almost falling into it.

There are parts of the latest novel that I know were written when I was firmly in that groove. They’re still, in my opinion, some of the best parts of the novel. The words were just flowing, very little rewrite was required. Hopefully other people will enjoy them as well — because YES. The next novel (The Jaguar and The Wolf) will be available May 3rd. I’m doing a reading on the 6th, and the store owner called me yesterday to let me know that he’d just gotten confirmation that the novel really would be available.

Hope ya’ll are having a good day. . .
