Sorry – haven’t been around much – came down with the cold from hell that morphed into a sinus infection. I’ve completely lost my voice again. Plus I’ve been working really hard at the day job. I hope to be back soon.
In the meanwhle – Mike got a long-term NASA grant – which is going to make his life a lot better.
Here’s an article about it:

Congrats for Mike, soup for you.
Thanks – am planning on good old tomatoe soup for dinner, actually.
And I got the CD! I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet. But thanks!
oooh, I hate those colds. once upon a time I was the QUEEN of sinus infections.
I seem to be getting a lot more of them. Maybe it’s age. I’m hoping, though, that this is the last of the season.
Might I suggest some preventative medicine? eat well, good herbal teas, also if you can, get a neti pot to rinse out your nose regularly.
I have been doing preventative medicine – lots of sleep and good tea and exercise and long baths (stress is always something I have to fight.)
We’ll remember Mike’s grant with wine this evening. Congrats! (We’re Wyoming football fans and love the whole school.) I’m making chicken soup as we speak; home someone can make some for you.
I’m actually cooking chicken stock on the stove right now (!) And thanks for the good thoughts.
That’s terrific!
Thanks! We’re both really, really happy about it. And relieved – it’s going to take some of the pressure off him in terms of his job, tenure, etc.
Okay, that’s a useful towards tenure kind a grant. Way to go Mike!
Boo hiss to the sinus bugs!

Yeah – still happy about Mike’s position. Between what he originally brought when he joined, and this, and the other grant, he’s brought in over a million dollars to the University.

That is seriously, seriously cool. Congrats to Mike!
Sympathies on the cold. Besides the chicken and tomato soups, I can offer chicken-corn chowder with a fresh jalapeno chopped in. Guaranteed to clear your sinuses.
Thanks!
I’ve had really good chilli this weekend – that helped clean up my sinuses a great deal. And maybe Chinese food tonight, with that lovely sharp Chinese mustard. . .
Hope you’re doing well.

Glad to see you here again. Had wondered if you’d fallen into a black hole…but maybe a quasar instead? 😉 Congrats to your hub on both grant and book! And you had better get well because we need more Leah books out there on the shelves!
Hey – yeah – I’ve been kind of quiet. Busy as all heck, sick, the holidays, *huge* work deadlines – you get the picture. And right now I’m going through the galleys for “The Jaguar and the Wolf” – which you’ll see on shelves come May. . . as well as doing research for the fox fairy novel. . . and about half way through with a couple of short stories. . . so yeah. Busy.
