Looking. . .

Well – as some of you may have seen today – Oracle bought PeopleSoft. I’ve worked for PeopleSoft for the past 7 years, doing technical writing.

Am I out of a job immediately? No.

But sometime over the next year? Quite possibly.

I’m not actively looking for a new job. Not yet. However, if any of you hear of a cool technical writing job, that can be done remotely, sometime in the next year, feel free to drop me an email.

Figured it wasn’t too early to put the word out, to start passively looking for something new.

Here’s hoping that next year is better than this year. . .

  1. Send me a resume?

We have several good sized contracts in the works and something might come up. I’ll pass it on to the HR guy.

I’ll drop you an email when I get home to make sure you still have my address, but I’ll bet you could guess it based on the fact that it’s at sff.net 😉

Good luck with the not quite job hunt!

    1. Hey – I will send you a resume – it just didn’t happen in the rush before the holidays. But once I get back to WY I will send it. (I really needed to update it. . .) Thanks soooo much for letting me know about possibilities.

    1. Thanks – I do too. I just sometimes wish I had a crystal ball and could know when the one job was actually going to end, if it’s going to end, how much work I need to put into getting a new job. . . Ack. Not going to think about it tonight!

  3. Wow

I’m in the midts of reading Paper Mage, and in looking over your site find you have the lj bug too!

Really enjoying the book, thanks for writing it.

Glad you like the novel. Keep your fingers crossed that I can sell the sequal sometime next year. . .

And the next novel is coming out in May – with Vikings and Mayans, oh my!

Putting together Norse and Mesoamerican myths is going to be quite dangerous, dunno if my brain will handle the joy. 😉

        Happy Christmas/Giftmas to you.

Hi! I’m glad you have a live journal. I just wanted to tell you that I read your first novel Paper Mage and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will most definitely read the others you have out. And now you might have a Paper Mage sequel? Count me in.
My name is Heather, and I’m a product designer. I used to work at a newspaper as a proofreader, but I now want to be a writer too. Right now I just do fandoms, but I’m working on original stuff too. Writers like you are an inspiration to me.
        Keep writing; I’ll be reading.
PS: Don’t mind my avatar. It’s a long story.

  5. There’s always the freelance route. Yeah, I know, not as good as it could be but…

I’m jobbing right now. End up in April and then we’ll see.

    Luck.
