Uhmmm — I don’t mean to keep disappearing. Stuff just keeps happening.
The sinus infection wasn’t wiped out with the first dose of antibiotics, so am on a second, 14-day course now. I did write a couple of days before I got sick again, and am now finally well enough to start back into the novel. Didn’t push myself too much today — mainly did edits and rewrote a couple of sections. It always takes me a while to get back into the novel. But I’ve been thinking a lot about my process, and how to get more quickly back into the swing of things. I’m hoping that because I continued to do tiny amounts of research while I was sick — only reading a page or so, but at least was able to do that — that I’ll be able to hook back into the book more quickly. It kind of seems to have worked — while actually starting today took a long time, I accomplished more than I expected.
I’ll be in Seattle next weekend — the 4th through the 7th. I fired the one real estate agent I was working with — she was trying to sell me a place, not the right place for me. Am working with a second who appears to be much more on the ball and who has actually listened to me. If I find some place I like well enough to make an offer on Thursday, I will. Otherwise, I’ll spend Friday looking at rentals. Just have to find myself some place to live.
The weekend after that, Aug 12-14th, my friend Jennie and I are going to New Orleans. Just for fun. There were these great Internet vacation package deals and so we figured, why not?

Sorry to hear about your sinus infection. I have had several and they invariably sucked. No real upside there, so just get better! (Try chicken soup — it really does help. Three thousand years of Jewish cooking can’t be wrong….)
