I have three POV characters in these three novels. Yesterday, I finished the character arc edits for these characters. During the process of doing that, I also wrote a couple of the missing scenes that I needed. The character arc edit was the big edit, the one I knew would take the longest. I’m glad I finished it, though I recognize I’ll still end up tweaking things here and there.
Today I did the prologue/epilogue edit. Why did I chose that one? Because I’m in San Francisco for the day job, and I copied over the wrong file. I have my rewrite notes, not the rewrite outline. And while I have some idea of the other edits that I need to do, I’d really like to look at the outline before I delve into one of those. For example, the world edit. There are several points under that heading that need to be fixed across all the novels. I don’t remember what all those points are. I don’t want to start that edit until I have all of that information.
This edit took a lot less time than I thought it would. Of course, that’s only looking at the time I spent on it this morning. I couldn’t sleep last night, and so I ended up planning out this edit, figuring out exactly what I needed to do for it. This morning, it was merely a matter of doing what I’d already figured out.
So now I need to figure out what I’m doing tomorrow.
