Update, as such

I tend not to post personal stuff in this LJ. Which means that recently, I haven’t been posting at all.

I’m still rewriting the novel. I’m very close to finishing. I’d like to say that I’ll finish it over the weekend, but I’m going to a yoga workshop all day Saturday and Sunday, so we’ll see. If I don’t finish it this weekend I will finish it next week. Then it’ll be time to write/compose again! Instead of just rewrite! WOOT!

I’ve had two root canals this month. The first one was great. I had been in so much pain prior to the work, and within a week after the work, I was 90% out of pain. It was fabulous. Now, with the second one, though it’s been a week I’m still having a tremendous amount of pain. Plus, I believe there’s another tooth that requires a root canal close to it. So that’s been challenging. I find tooth pain very distracting.

I think that Novocaine really messes with my system, and negates my hormones as well as my thyroid medicine. It’s been hard finding balance, but I’m working on it.

The good thing about not being able to eat solid food — at least I’ve been losing some of the weight I needed to lose.

The day job has had some crazy times as well as some calm times this month. From now until March or April it should be all calm times again.

I’ve been sucked in by a video game recently. Puzzle Quest. It’s gamer crack — Bejeweled mixed with an RPG. I may have lost a writing weekend to it. But now I don’t play it until after I’ve finished the writing.

I keep thinking about dating, putting an ad in the personals or something. Then I think about the mechanics of kissing, and how at this point I don’t want anyone to touch my mouth because it hurts. So, though I said I was going to start thinking more seriously about dating come January, given my current health situation, I’m thinking now maybe by the end of February. . .

I’ve had a couple of plumbers come out and look at my bathroom and give me bids on the remodel (planned for June.) I’m still waiting on the second bid, but if it’s reasonable, I think I’ll go with him. He treated me as if I was uninformed about plumbing, and was willing to explain it and answer my questions, as opposed to treating me as if I was stupid. Plus his company has done all the work for the B&B across the street — for the last 18 years. So he comes highly recommended and so far has been fabulous to work with.

If I go to tea on Thursday, I will be late. From 6-8 PM I will be attending a meeting to discuss how/if the Capital Hill Community Council should be revived.

Also — I will be in San Francisco Feb 10-15th. Anyone want to get together while I’m there?

    1. It’s been a long while since I’ve been kissed. I was thinking about it, and realized that even if there was someone in my life, I wouldn’t be interested because it would just hurt.

So how you been doing? Still relaxing?

    1. Thanks sweetie. We should really go out sometime. Like, after the middle of February (because I’m busy until then) but after that. . .

  1. puzzle quest sounds like crack… Not good.

boo on teeth. I’m excited about your remodel! I want to see your house when it is all ripped up. The architect in me is going ‘ooooo old building’

    hehe

    1. You’re welcome to come over that weekend to help with the demo! Hee.

Puzzle Quest is true crack. I’d be happy to hook you up. *G*

I just keep hoping that my teeth are going to get better sooner rather than later.

    1. You have my sympathies. Teeth problems are such a pain, literally.

I don’t know for certain if Novocain messes with my thyroid medicine. But it’s the only thing I can think of that would explain some of the problems I’ve had. Not just the tiredness, but I also came down with something similar to an exhaustion cold, which I only get when the thyroid medicine isn’t correct.

      ::hugs::

  2. Games. This past year, I’ve gotten so lost in them so many times. They were wonderful to get lost in, but yeah, if you’ve got anything else that needs to be done? Can be a problem. I’ve bookmarked the link, though. *g*

Thrilled to hear about the remodel, the potential of it – one more step into making the place even more yours.

Fingers crossed that the situation with your teeth is rectified sooner rather than later, and that the mechanics of kissing can be explored fully! MMM. Kissing.

    1. I don’t generally play video games. This one though? So much fun.

The remodel was supposed to happen last year, but due to changing jobs, etc., had to wait until this year. But it *will* happen this year. I’ve already talked with my boss and have arranged for the time off.

The mechanics of kissing. Hmmm. Might need to think about that some more. *G*

    1. I’m not really sure how I’m getting stuff done either — sheer force of will I believe. Hope things are going well with you . . .

  5. I hope your teeth get better soon. I remember living on instant pudding and broth after I had oral surgery. Chocolate pudding does not count as health food, but it was easy and satisfying and I could buy a pint of milk on campus and add a package of pudding to it to make lunch.

This sounds like a time to give yourself some slack so your energy goes to recovering more quickly. Recent surgery is not an excuse, it is a very valid reason to take it easy for a couple weeks. I know you know this, and I also know how hard you drive yourself. I’m glad you have found a fun distraction.

    1. Mmmmm. Chocolate pudding. Sounds wonderful.

My teeth are getting better. But I haven’t been taking it as easy as I should have been, I’m afraid. Could be why I keep getting exhausted. It’s been a cycle of feel a little better, push, then sleep. I need to get better at it.

Hope that all is well with you.

      1. I’m doing well. Rather busier than I’d like, but mostly doing fun stuff. Lots of Scottish country dancing, aikido and weekend road trips to see V. Even a little cross-country skiing. I’ve gotten a group of friends together to do craft stuff once a month, which has been a lot of fun. I’m doing some spinning and knitting, more when I am traveling than at home.
