Today

I started writing chapter 16 this morning. I got the first 2000 words down. After dinner, I’m going to try for another 1000. The scene didn’t happen as I’d first imagined it. I think it’s okay, but I might need to do some rewriting. It does mean that the significant event that occurs in the next scene is now going to be, well, more significant, I think. (^_^)

When I finished writing, I went outside to enjoy the sunshine and do a walk/training thing today. I walked down to Pike’s Place market and back. This meant hills. Kinda steep ones. A week ago or so, I bought a pedometer for tracking the distances I was walking.

3.46 miles
7210 steps
56.23 minutes
313 calories
3.68 m/hour
128 step/min

I think I probably could have done that distance in less time, however, I kept having to stop at traffic lights. Still, it isn’t a horrible time, especially given that there were hills.

I’m more worn out after this walk than I feel I should be. Yet, as I’ve just started to get back into shape, I realize that I need to be gentle with myself. While I need to start walking 3 miles on a regular basis, I should also build to it, and not just hop into doing it every day.
