Progress

Rewriting chapter one today.

Have I mentioned that I love this world? Because I do. I really, *really* do.

One of the main reference books I’m using for this novel is “The Tough Guide to Fantasyland” by Diana Wynne Jones. There are some common fantasy elements in this novel — like a harp, a sword, an inn, etc. Before I write about them, I read up on them in the Tough Guide, then I make damn sure I’m doing something different. This has brought me so much joy, and, I hope, will make this a very interesting novel.

    1. It’s really good for me. It’s also so interesting to approach this novel this way — to let the art come and then the craft.

      ::hugs::

    1. Thank you! I’m glad that my ramblings are brightening your day. How are you, BTW? We should do lunch or dinner sometime. . . .

      1. I’m doing good, albeit doing a bit of mad-dashing, trying to get everything tied up before I leave for England and Denmark in 10 days. But as I was telling a friend the other day, I now feel like I’m riding the giant wave rather than floundering in it. 😀

        But lunch or dinner sometime would be great — when would be good for you?

        1. Uhmmm — Sorry for not replying sooner — stuff’s been crazy. You’re probably gone at this point — but maybe when you come back?
