Bugs and beer

I was very privileged to be invited to one of Don Ehlen, the Insect Safari Bugs and Beer parties. Under the cut are just a few of the pictures I took.

Crusty crustacean Crusty crustacean
I loved how this crab was covered with crustaceans.
Leopard crab? Leopard crab?
Not sure, but it was pretty.
Shells Shells
Very, very pretty shells
Japanese style butterflies Japanese style butterflies
I loved these. They reminded me of a Japanese scrim.
Irridescent butterflies Irridescent butterflies
It was difficult to capture how shiny these were. But they were amazingly shiny.
Moths Moths
I loved the wings on these, and the eyes.
Shiny bugs Shiny bugs
I loved the jewel tones and shiny quality of these bugs.
Beatles! Beatles!
He had all kinds of beetles there.
More bugs More bugs
And lots more bugs.
Flying grasshoppers Flying grasshoppers
Yeah, these were pretty amazing as well.

  1. Definitely check out the Insectarium next time you’re in New Orleans. Gorgeous butterfly and bug displays. And things like this can happen:

    1. there were lots of live bugs at the party — I didn’t post a great picture I have of the one but I should. And thanks for the info! I will definitely check it out.

    1. Thank you! I’m looking forward to seeing yours once you’re able to upload them. Again, thank you for a lovely, lovely evening!
