I figured I’d share some of the marvel of springtime at the farm!
Fair warning – LOTS of pictures! Big versions!
The oregano, which is happy to accept the challenge of taking over the rest of the garden.
The sage, which sees the oregano’s bid and says, “I’ll raise you one.”
The thyme, which is still recovering from being moved from a pot to the ground. It may decide to become a contender for taking over the garden next year, though.
Aronia berries. We’ll actually get some fruit this year.
Gooseberry!
Feral rose from the John Street house that’s finally taking root and going to grow out at the farm!
Mint growing on the side of the house, happy to have that space to dominate.
Normal, nicely behaved strawberries, which are low to the ground and send out a few runners.
And then there are the strawberries that are at least a foot tall and are aggressively taking over any and all space cleared for them…
Mountain cranberries. All those white blossoms will turn into berries later this fall.
And the huckleberry trees. They’re starting to berry. Fruit won’t be ripe until end of July or so.
Native, crawling blackberries. The white blossoms will mostly turn into berries.
We also have a lot of native Indian Plum trees that are fruiting this year.
And the birds, of course. Mrs. and Mr. black headed grossbeak out for a date at the feeder.
