Yes! The Shopify store is still a thing that’s ongoing. Continuing to improve it, fix the corners that are broken, etc. (Thank you one and all for your patience in this process!)
The coupon code will be in effect until July 1, so if you want to use it, you have about one more week.
And yes, that coupon code for the store is still active.

This week the cactus that Blaze bought at one of the local plant sales bloomed. I haven’t seen blooming cactus since I lived in Arizona way back when. There are two items that look as though they might turn into flowers. The first flower has already faded. Don’t know if the second stem will bloom or not.
Anyway, here’s the first blossom when it was blooming!
The fawns continue to be completely adorable. For the first couple of weeks they hadn’t been weaned and so just followed along behind Mama deer.
Now, they’re eating on their own. Still traipsing behind mom mostly. Last night, the three of them were in the septic field when something spooked the little ones. Mama stood still while the little ones ran in different directions.
So I got some good pictures of the one who came up near the house. You can see how the spots have faded.
Eventually, they all regrouped and went back to grazing. Here’s the other one with Mama.

I’m finally well again. I was sick for about a month. Two rounds of antibiotics. Still have some ongoing issues, and I have an appointment to see a specialist in about a month. (And yes, I made that appt back in March…)
I figure I was well and doing really good for between 4-5 months. Then I went down for four weeks. Fingers crossed I’ll have many more months of health.
I can’t predict when I’ll next go down, as it were. I want to plan on me being healthy all the time. So I’m kind of doing that, while maintaining contingency plans for the next time I go down.
What I have to remember is that a few years ago, I’d have one good day, followed by either adequate or bad days. Frequently it was good, bad, good, bad. For me to have months where I’m mostly good is a tremendous improvement.
I was hoping to blast past my word count goal of 500K this year, maybe do 600K. I wrote 50K per month for the first four months of the year.
However, May and June combined is only going to be 50K. So I’m keeping my word count goal where it currently is, 500K.
Plus, I know that there will be some bad times ahead.
My niece’s dog is mostly responding to chemo, but his progress is not steady. There will be another emergency trip down to Portland in my future—I just don’t know when. And maybe I’ll stay completely healthy. Not betting on that either.
So I’m very focused on making the most of every day, because I’m never sure when my life will be upended again.
Here’s hoping that your lives are more steady.

A cozy fantasy tale about ice, fire, love, and snow cones!
When El the Ice Elf asks Mara the fire elemental to marry her, she expects an immediate YES!
However, a distinct maybe hangs between them.
Not due to a lack of love, but a lack of tradition.
The Elves have oodles of ceremonies to choose from.
As a fire elemental, Mara is singular. She doesn’t know any other fire elementals. She has no true kin. She does want to get married…but the ceremony has to have meaning for both of them.
El vows to go with Mara to the ends of the world to find rites for Mara to call her own.
Follow this unlikely couple as they defined themselves, their rituals, and their love in the cozy fantasy sequel to The Ice Elf & The Snow Cone.
