Hey there –

This morning, we woke up to fall. Last week we had some high temps (for us), 80s and 90s. However, it always dropped back down into the 60s overnight.

Last night we had rain. I cannot express how lovely it is to wake up and hear the sound of rain pattering the roof.

When it’s hot, either my husband or I water the various plants on the property. It takes three to four hours. We aren’t busy that entire time. We have a pretty good system, using two hoses connected to different water delivery devices.

It’s more complicated to explain than to do. But basically, start the first hose, set the second hose. When the first hose is finished, start the second hose, reset the first hose. When the second hose is finished, start the first hose, reset the second. Etc.

It takes so much time because we’re leaving those hoses run anywhere from twenty to forty-five minutes. There’s a lot of “down time” in between the running around and switching hoses.

I guess the big news for the week is that I’m running a Kickstarter campaign to launch my new novel, “Death by Brisket.”

The Kickstarter won’t go live until October first. In the meanwhile, I’d really love it if y’all would follow this link, then click the “Notify me on launch” button.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1835431132/death-by-brisket-a-paranormal-cozy-mystery-for-witchtober

I’m not asking you to back the Kickstarter. You can opt out of the emails. But having people follow the campaign before it actually starts will help me gain traction in terms of Kickstarter’s promotion.

Why am I running this campaign? Kickstarter has their own themes some months. For example, February they have a romance theme, and in October they do “Witch-tober.” Because my project has witches in it, it will receive extra advertising from Kickstarter itself.

So having some people back it now means more advert space from Kickstarter later.

I’ll tell you more about the Kickstarter once it goes live.
I can’t really tell you about the new project I started, because I don’t (yet!) have anything to show for it. But I have written up some short rants for TikTok, have made attempts at recording videos (still need to do more takes!) and I have plans.

For those who’ve heard me talk about her before, yes, I’m bringing the Salty B to life.

Again, more on that later.

And I guess that’s it for me today.

Cheers!

Leah
