Welcome again to the new folks who’ve just arrived. I value your replies (just like I value the replies of the people who’ve been here for a while!) Feel free to send me an email back at any time. It’s awesome to be able to chat with you.

Fall has definitely arrived in the PNW, sometimes referred to as the Time of Great Gloom. Lots of rain, clouds, and dark. Sun isn’t rising until around eight AM, and setting around six. The time in between will continue to shorten for the next two months.
As y’all may or may not know, I have two bird feeding structures as well as a bird bath. I have five actual bird feeders—suet feeders, seed feeders, and a hummingbird feeder. During the summer I add a thistle sock as well for the goldfinch.
The feeders empty much more slowly during the fall and winter months, but I still keep them well stocked. I keep water in the bird bath, and clean that twice a week.
A couple weeks ago, we had a cold snap. The water in the bird bath froze over. I had to get out my heater early.
This past week, we had a day that was really cold. Woke up to 38 degrees, and it didn’t get past 43 all day.
At one point, when I looked out at my bird bath, I realized there was a bird just sitting in the warm water. Wasn’t doing the usual splashing around that birds do.
No, I think the poor thing was grabbing some “spa” time, warming itself up in the warm water of the bird bath. Later on, a second bird did the same thing. I don’t have any pictures of them, I’m afraid. So here’s a picture of the standing banner that I’m considering creating for the live events:
I have two live-sale events to plan for. One is in November, the Enumclaw Wine Walk. There isn’t much prep work that I need to do for that, beyond picking and packing the necessary books.
The other is the first weekend of December. I got into the BIG holiday market in Enumclaw. It’s a three day event, twelve hour days for the first two days, seven hours the last day. I have ordered all the books and they should arrive on time. (Fingers crossed!)
I have a lot, and I mean, A LOT of titles that I could sell. However, I’m limiting my catalog to the quirky, funny, light side, at least to start.
So I’m focused on merely seven titles of what I’m calling my “front facing” books. Then, I have sequels and omnibuses. Altogether, I will have twenty-one titles available.
This is a HUGE gamble for us, moneywise. Printing and shipping a bunch of books costs a lot. And the table rent for the three days is pretty pricy as well.
However. The organizer seemed surprised that a book seller was coming into the market. I might be the only one selling books there. There might be others. We’ll see.
But if I am the only person there, that means no competition. Any person who wants to buy books at this holiday market means I’m their only choice.
Plus, I’m offering pre-wrapped books, just add $2.00 to the total.
Imagine you’re going to a holiday market looking for Christmas presents. You know Uncle Bob likes books. And hey, it’s already wrapped!
There will be more news about that as I move along. And pictures of the stuff I’m making for decorations, like all the crocheted stars and the sausages that are coming along nicely. And I’m going to marble more paper for more bookmarks. And…you get the idea.
I think that’s it for me for now.

Rosey may, perhaps, be a little upset when the hacker that Jamaal hires steals the alien data core that he was supposed to decode.
Of course, he has a secret lair on a volcano. What super villain wouldn’t?
Breaking into this stronghold is only the start of the “juvenile delinquency” that Rosey and the gang must take on to get it back.
Alien Codex—the second book in the Live Alien Contact series—is full of cons, capers, and misdirection.

Be sure to read the rest of this finished series!
