All About the Eyes. Again.

Six months ago, I had cataract surgery on both eyes, and new lenses put in.

Since then, I’ve had three issues with my eyes.

  1. Glare. Every bright light source has glare. It isn’t just at night. Driving on a sunny day, the brake lights on the car in front of me will have a large halo and glare.

A Glaring Issue

I had cataract surgery done on both my eyes in March. The blur is all gone, and I’m seeing clearly.

However.

I have tremendous glare when I look at any light. This isn’t just at night. This is daylight, looking at the lights in my kitchen.

General Updatedness Feb 2023

This morning, I drove into Seattle, to the eye doctor, for them to re-measure my eyes. I figure this is “Measure twice, cut once” in action.

The technicians have had some difficulty getting accurate measurements of my eyes, which are necessary for the new lenses.

The Eyes of March

For those of you playing along at home, I need eye surgeries to get my cataracts replaced. I was finally able to talk with the scheduler this week.

My doctor told me frankly that he had a big problem with his scheduler, that I was going to have to call her in order to get the surgeries set up.

All About the Eyes and This Morning’s Near Miss

TLDR version:

I will have cataract surgery sometime in the next three months, to replace the lenses in my eyes. Plus, avoided an accident this morning.

Longer Version:

Last April, 2022, I was diagnosed with cataracts. I’d asked before about them, as my brother had them and my grandmother as well, but no doctor ever told me I had them or needed to worry about them.
