So…this landmark occurred. I’m kind of tickled by it. While I’ve used the occasional streak freeze, I haven’t used them very often. No, I’ve done the work, despite sickness, power outages, and travel.

I’ve been studying Spanish for about 500 days. (I started off with Hungarian.) Am I fluent? HA! I don’t produce the language enough. It does surprise me, though, that sometimes when I hear people speaking Spanish in public I can understand some of what they’re saying.

Duolingo has what they call the practice hub. I always do a session practicing speaking before I move forward on my lessons. It means I’m not learning as fast. But I do feel as though it’s sticking better.

I will eventually need to get a Spanish teacher, or even someting less formal than that, and do a language exchange. I do enjoy it a lot.

And just so y’all know, this is Melissa’s fault. She’s the one who introduced me to Duolingo in the first place.
