Weight stayed exactly the same, which is a good thing. I am also assuming that if I managed to stay at a calorie deficit this week, I’ll probably see my weight shift down more next Monday. I both did but didn’t sleep well last week. One of the things I know if that if I sleep well for a week, and I keep a calorie deficit, I’ll lose weight. If I don’t sleep as well, I won’t. Plus, I had a lot of stress last week, and that also contributes to a lack of weight loss.

I supposedly averaged 9K steps per day last week. It’s probably closer to 7K. I did a LOT of work on Sunday, which raised everything up. As the tracker is on my wrist, I don’t necessarily think that I took 16K steps on Sunday. I did use my hands a lot, and the tracker is easily confused.

I wrote every day last week. Got about 5K worth of words. I’ll take it. I’ve been having difficulty concentrating in the morning (see, stress, above). Hopefully, though, there will be less stress in my future.

Email – I’m just barely holding on. That’s okay. I kind of anticipated that. I’ll be doing more catching up this week as it’s an easier week. Next week, camping, so I’ll just be treading water. Then I’ll be really busy, so we’ll see what I end up doing.

I had some stress last week due to the construction. People were supposed to show up and didn’t. So I felt as though I was going to fall behind in terms of the schedule I’d set.

Fortunately, eventually, they did show up, and I was able to move forward. So things are more or less on schedule at this point. There’s still one more major task that I need to wait on from the contractor. That needs to happen in between things. Hopefully, that will be done on a timely basis, and I’ll be able to finish.

I mentioned above that I have but haven’t been having great sleep.

On the one hand, the stress has been keeping me tense. I would wake up at 2 or 4 AM, then not be able to go back to sleep. I would just keep thinking and worrying.

On the other hand, I’ve been getting AMAZING deep sleep, at least according to my Fitbit. Consistently getting between 1.5 – 2 hours per night. It’s been lovely. Deep sleep is also called restorative sleep. If I only end up getting 6-7 hours of sleep, but I get 1.5 hours of deep sleep, I’m actually pretty good for the day.

For a while, the magnesium cream was getting me lots of good deep sleep. But that didn’t last. I stopped getting consistent good sleep.

The main change that I’ve made is I’ve started using a supplement called Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA). (LINK) We’ll see if it continues to work for me.

I’ve been having some problems with being able to concentrate in the mornings. I’m not sure if that’s related to the ALA or if it’s just been the stress along with everything else. It doesn’t seem as though it would be the ALA. We’ll see.

For now, I’ll take the extra restorative sleep. I’m a bit stiff this morning from all the work I did on Sunday. But I’m not too sore. This is a good thing.
