I went to see my amazing physical therapist here in Maple Valley. (Seriously. If you’re local and you need PT, go see Dr. Amy!)

The good news: I didn’t tear my meniscus. All I did was strain it, kind of badly.

The better news: It should only take six-eight weeks of therapy and I should be out of pain.

The even better news: I keep re-injuring that knee. Turns out that there’s some issues with my hip as well. The hope is that by fixing not only my knee but my hip that I won’t keep re-injuring my knee.

The bad news: Though my health insurance will cover PT, they don’t start paying out until after I’ve met an incredibly high deductible. (I have health insurance, really, not health care.)

This means that I’ll be paying out-of-pocket for all my PT.

If you have ever thought about buying a book from us, now would be a good time to do it. I don’t care if you buy one of Blaze’s books or one of mine. 2020 was a pretty bad year in terms of sales for us.

So on the one hand, this will be a hefty expense for us. On the other hand, not being in pain 24/7 makes it worthwhile.

In other news, next week I’m going to be doing a “half-marathon” as it were. Instead of the full writing marathon, which is 10K words and 10K steps, I’m going to be doing 5K words and 10K steps. (But I’ll only do 10K steps on the days my knee allows it.) I’m really looking forward to it, to being that focused on the words for a while. I’m currently writing the second book in a series. I wrote the first book during the writing marathon I did back in October. I won’t finish the book next week. I should finish it before the end of the month, though.

And a third thing (because three things make a post…) I am still really enjoying my planner. I hadn’t realized just how much I needed “credit” for all the things I did. Not just for the publishing, but also for my life, for taking care of myself. Don’t know if I’ll stay this excited about it, but for now, it’s a marvelous, wonderful thing.

How about you? Did you make plans for doing things differently in the new year? Have you been successful so far?
