Normally I try to ask a question at the bottom of my blog post but I figured I’d start with asking: how are you doing? How are you holding up? I hope that all of you are well and safe.

We’re doing fine out here. We’re still adjusting, though.

I’m still writing. I’m actually starting a new novel today and I am SO EXCITED about that. I spent the last couple of days going through the first novel in this series. While there were some rough parts at the start of it, by the end I really found my pace and it’s a good book. I might even say really good.

The second novel is going to be even better. (^_^)

These books are immersive, dark epic fantasy. Now, I do not write to market. However, the end of the last book will quite possibly be lighter. (Still unsure if there are three or four books total. Probably three, but you never know.)

Why?

In part, that’s MY reaction to what’s currently going on in the world. Everything out there is going to hell. I need to put order on it, have a happily ever after. That’s for MY comfort.

However, I suspect that there might be a lot of people feeling the same way, looking to escape and wanting a happy ending. Don’t know if that will make these books commercial. Don’t really care. Will write my heart, and hopefully that will be enough.

Though I’m writing regularly, I’ve found that I’ve had a lot more difficulty attending to the business side of things.

In part, that’s because I’ve gone through our 2020 business plan and had to make a bunch of changes, things pushed out to 2021. We’re not spending money right now. Neither is anyone else. Our sales have dropped considerably.

I’m not worried about us or money at this point – we have a significant buffer in savings. We would have to more than half that before I start worrying.

But the other reason I’m not attending to business is because I don’t a routine anymore. Used to be that I would write in the mornings, have lunch, then most days I’d go into town to use someone else’s internet for the heavy lifting of publishing.

We’ve doubled our internet capacity out here, so I should now be able to do all the uploading of files at home and not run out. We’ll see. We can increase the capacity further if we need to.

So yesterday I came up with a big-ass TO DO list, arranged it so that the highest priority things were first, and now I’m starting tackling those. Having a list of things to do really helps.

We’ve been lucky that the first week of everything shut down had been sunny. I’ve been able to get outside and walk and do 10,000 steps every day. It’s now not supposed to rain again until next week. Will still try to get my steps in regardless.

And I think that’s it. So I’ll ask again: How are y’all doing? How are you holding up? I hope that everyone I know is healthy and safe.
