Because I own my own business, I don’t have an office I need to go to, and I’m an indie publisher, I work all the damned time.

In addition, because I am chronically sick, I have days when I don’t get much done due to illness. This means taking a “weekend” or even a scheduled day off once a week doesn’t sit well with me when I have so much to do.

However, I need some time off. I really do. I need that scheduled break regardless of the number of unscheduled breaks I must take due to illness.

So I’ve initiated PJs day. One day a month, generally the last Sunday of a month, I wear PJs all day and I do not have to work. I can if I need to, but the spirit of PJs day is to relax for the day.

Since I’m going to a workshop and will be gone next weekend, today (the third Sunday of the month) is PJs day for January. We did our usual Sunday thing – went out to breakfast, did some grocery shopping – and now I’m home in PJs for (possibly) the rest of the day.

I have a short story that I need to finish. My intent is to spend the rest of the day finishing that off. That will mean 4-5000 words.

You don’t know how delightful that sounds to me – to spend an entire day just writing.

I will do a few work-like things. I need to write a newsletter. I need to do some things for the upcoming trip. I need to do some cooking today.

But that’s about it. I may go into the gym later on. I may not. One of the things we bought at the grocery store was a couple of bottles of red wine. Because PJ isn’t complete unless I get a glass of wine as well.

So that’s my Sunday plan. What sorts of things do you have planned?
