Though this is Monday, this really isn’t an accountability post.

I did gain a couple pounds at the con. I’m not worried about them.

I also woke up Thursday morning with a cold. I was not able to do all the things, which is why this isn’t about accountability. Or rather, it is, but it isn’t.

The good news is that it was a rather mild cold. The other good news is that I’m so much healthier than I used to be. Despite being sick at a con, I’m still mostly well today. Even last year, if I’d gotten sick or been sick at a con, it would have lost a week.

Instead, I didn’t attend much of the con. I went to my panels. I had a couple of pre-arranged social engagements. But that was about it. I was able to walk around the dealer room on Saturday, but then had to go sit due to exhaustion.

So in terms of accountability, this weekend was all about self-care. Resting, taking naps, and as it turned out, eating all the things. For some reason, I was starving all the time. I ate so much. But I decided that I just needed to listen to my body and give it what it asked for. I can worry about the extra weight this week.

Today, I’m 95% better. A little congested this morning, but that’s about it. I feel as though I really only had one day of the cold, and the rest of the time, I was recovering. If I hadn’t been at the con, I probably would have been completely well by Saturday.

Orycon itself wasn’t as good as it usually is. Partly that was because I wasn’t able to attend as much of it. Partly that was because of Reasons.

However, fingers crossed, next year’s Orycon will be considerably better, at least in terms of programming. We are currently committed to going to Orycon in 2020. If things don’t turn around, 2021 is in question.

Blaze and I spent the ride down as well as the ride back talking about projects. It’s so wonderful to have a partner who I get to world build with. Though I have the next novel already knocking at my door, there are more short story ideas as well that I need to get to!

So much to write. So little time.

Tell me about the project you’d *really* like to get to, but haven’t been able to. Yet.
