I went into this morning prepared for the scale needle to not have moved at all. Last week wasn’t the greatest when it came to getting my steps in. I had quite a few days when I didn’t get anywhere near 10K steps. And while I was hungry, I was also eating more, so I wasn’t constantly worried about food.
To my delight, I discovered I had lost another pound this morning. The scale is obviously moving in the right direction for the first time in a very long while.
So even though I ate more food last week than I had the week before, and I walked less, I still lost weight. This makes me happy.
But it’s much easier now to exist on less food. I just have to remember that it is going to take longer for me to adapt than it used to. Instead of just taking two days, it takes closer to two weeks.
Now that I’m two weeks in, I’ve got the diet pretty locked in. The other good thing is that even when I have more food available, like when I go to a restaurant, I want less. I eat less. I’m paying much more attention to when I’m actually full, and that seems to be working as well.
Of course, we’re going camping this weekend. I’m sure I’ll be fine, as I’ll primarily eat the food that I’ve brought, and that’s all going to be good stuff. But we’ll see.
ION, I’m really close to finishing the current novel. I’m going to try to get in some extra writing time this week, to see if I can finish it before we go camping. Then, while I’m camping, I can write a short story or two, and possibly start the next novel. I’ll talk more about the novel later.
In the meanwhile, I’ve got to get to work. There are other things happening, but nothing I’m going to chat about until later.
I hope that you’re Monday is going well! I can currently count seven goldfinches at the feeder just outside, along with a nuthatch in the suet and a towhee pecking at the ground underneath. What’s your best bird encounter?
