Like last spring, I have a few little fruit flies buzzing around the tiny house currently.
This is a problem. A big problem. A serious problem.
I have a composting toilet. One little fruit fly can easily become dozens if they get in there.
Like last spring, I took it seriously, and have managed to avoid a big problem.
My secret? Vinegar.
Ya never know when it comes to home remedies and the internets. They could be lying to ya.
However, two little bowls with cheap red wine vinegar, each with a drop of dishwashing soap to break the surface tension, has worked yet again. Seems the flies are attracted to the scent of the vinegar and they gleeful drown themselves in it.
I’ve maybe seen half a dozen of the little bugs. This morning, I didn’t see any. I figure there’s probably at least one or two still hiding. I also assume that at this point, I’ve handled the problem.
At least until next spring…
ION, I have received the new productivity planner. I actually like it a lot so far.
The other one, while it was lovely, it only gave me space to do five things in a day. The focus was good. However, I have a lot of little things that I also do, that I need to not only keep track of, but get credit for. I was only getting credit for the big things, and some of the smaller tasks were falling through the cracks.
So this new book, I have a full page for every week. There’s a checkbox at the start of every line, so I can check off what I’ve finished.
I still need to spend the time organizing, so that I’m doing the most important things first. But having the freedom to add additional items as they come up, both big and small, has been lovely.
I’ve only had this new planner for a week and I’m still figuring it out. However, at this point, it’s been really nice.
One last quick reminder that the 2019 Write Stuff story bundle is drawing to a close. If you haven’t picked up your copy, now is the time! Lots of amazing books in there – a gold mine of information.
I hope that your week is going well!
