So I can’t write that I’m all better. Not yet. But yesterday, FINALLY, for the first time in a couple weeks, I feel as though I’m getting better.
Yesterday morning was pretty rough. Couldn’t even write. Was still that out of it.
But I took a nap midday yesterday, and I felt a lot better when I woke up from that. Was able to do stuff yesterday afternoon, like chop up veggies and roast them. Felt good last night, and I actually feel good this morning as well. There will be words this morning. No idea how many, as I’m still somewhat sluggish. But some.
One of the things I know about myself is that I go in cycles, particularly with my food. I will eat close to the same thing for a meal for months at a time. Then, one day, I’ll wake up and not even be able to choke down a few spoonfuls. It still tastes good. But I’m done.
I had that with the bone broth soup about mid-December. Which was a shame, as I really liked the bone broth I had. But I couldn’t eat it anymore at all.
Which meant I needed to change my diet. Didn’t want to go back to eating salads – it’s cold out, and I want something warm.
Thought about it for a while, and came up with making roasted veggies for myself. As we were about to go traveling, and then I was sick, I didn’t implement my plan for a long while.
Yesterday, I was finally well enough to chop a bunch of veggies and roast them. That included a head of cauliflower, an onion, a yam, couple carrots, a couple turnips, garlic cloves, zucchini, etc. So it’s a little starchy. But, OMG, was that what I wanted. Turned out so very good.
Trying to get back into ketosis. It will be a little difficult the next few days. If I was able to walk or go to the gym, I’d already be in ketosis. The diet’s there, even if the roasted veggies are a little starchy. But I’m still resting, so it’s really hard. I’m hoping to go walk at the gym on Monday, which will drop me right back into ketosis.
One of the other ways I know that I’m better is that I’m starting to sleep less. I already sleep less than poor Blaze, who’s been just as sick as I have been. But that’s normal for me. I’m down to 10 hours at night, down from 11-12, and I know that number will just keep dropping until I’m back to 7-8, with a few nights at 6.
I hope that your first week of the new year has gone well! Me, I’m looking forward to next week. (^_^)
