For those of you not playing along at home, I realized that for May, I only had 4 migraines.
FOUR.
Which deserves pompoms and lots of cheering, especially considering that the month before that I had twelve migraines. And on average, I usually had between 8-12 migraines per month.
Only having four is nothing short of astonishing.
The OTHER good news, was that I didn’t have any headaches this last week. What’s been happening is that while I haven’t had migraines, I have had a lot of headaches. But they also went away for a week.
Then I ended the week with a migraine. However, it didn’t feel like a typical migraine, and it didn’t respond well to the typical treatment. Finally figured out I was fighting off some sort of illness when I went to lay down for a brief nap and slept for two hours. (I NEVER do that. Not unless I’m sick.) And even after that long nap, I was still exhausted.
I’ve also had a migraine today. However, it was a very typical migraine (or at least like a typical migraine that I get these days). It was only on one side of my head, the worst symptom was pain and I was able to keep working through it, it responded well to my usual “treatment” of fasting, water with salt, and deep breathing, and when it disappeared, it was as if it had never existed. (The migraine was caused by a hot flash, which is also very typical for me.)
I don’t know if I’ll only have four migraines in June, as I’ve already started off with two. But I’m hoping I won’t have another until the end of the month. Fingers crossed!
