This is going to have spoilers for the 2014 season of The Voice. If you haven’t seen the finale, you shouldn’t read on.
Ready?
Okay, now that it’s just us…
Here’s my crazy theory.
Adam Levine gave Matt McAndrew “Over the Rainbow” because he knew it wouldn’t work. (IMO, Matt killed that song, and not in a good way.)
That way, Matt McAndrew was “saved” from winning The Voice.
Instead, Adam can now sign Matt to his own private production company. As the other judges have done with their top singers every season.
Which would mean that Matt would have a contract with a non-traditional record label, so he’d able to keep some of his IP and money. Adam would get a new, great talent for his company.
Everybody wins.
Thoughts?
