WisCon!

I love WisCon. I draw sparkly shiny hearts all around it. I have no voice and am exhausted and frazzled and I never want it to end. *sigh*

Seriously. These are my people. Though I’m in such a better emotional space this WisCon than I was last year, I still needed the emotional support I’ve gotten here, a pick-me-up, as it were. I’ve been writing a new short story and talking up a storm and seeing old friends and making new friends and just. . .ah.

We arrived Thursday afternoon. I’m here with a friend. She had bad times with allergies on the plane here, and was pretty miserable. So I spent some time on my own, talking with friends in the lobby. It was wonderful.

Friday I did tarot card readings at the Gathering, which I personally felt was uneven. I hit the mark with quite a few people, but with a few others, it was really a miss. The readings seemed more predictive than usual, more pointed. I was using the Manga tarot deck because I’ve been using it a lot, but it’s still a new deck to me, and I’ve never done a marathon with it before.

Saturday was more eating, meeting with people, and the first panel that I was on, which was the build a world panel. There were many memorable things from that panel, like the Clama Sutra, and the greasy spoon/brothels. (You had to be there.) It was a marvelous panel.

Today, Sunday, is meeting more people, more eating, attending panels, and then the dessert salon, the guest of honor speeches, more parties, one last panel, then bed and leaving Monday morning.

I have more to say about this space and the people and what it means to me but the shower’s free and I need to go!

I hope that all of you are having a wonderful weekend, and that you all have spaces you can go to, people who you can be with, that are home.

I didn’t arrive in time for the gathering this year, but if you’re giving readings at Wiscon 34, I’ll be in the line.
