I can’t believe that I’m actually posting on Friday!

I decided to do a post of fountain pens that have dragons. However, I also found a couple of other pens that I just had to post. (stinabat — I think you might really like the last one.)

Dragon pens — Cartier
I love the clouds on this one. More about this pen here.

Another dragon pen
I’m not sure this one would be comfortable to use, but I liked it. More info about it here.
Another dragon pen
Montegrappa pen
Yet another dragon pen! Montegrappa makes some very interesting pens. More info about this pen here.
Montegrappa pen
A really nice Namiki dragon pen
From the intro:
Chinkin (Gold Inlay) is a technique in which a surface is coated with a Roiro lacquer finish and designs are carved on the surface lacquer with a special carving chisel. Precious metal lead and powder are then inlay in the cut patterns.

More info here.

A really nice Namiki dragon pen
dragon and phoenix pen
I don’t tend to care for the typical Visconti pens, and I don’t like how they write. But I did like this one. More info here
dragon and phoenix pen
another Visconti dragon pen
I really liked the looks of this Visconti pen as well. More info here.
another Visconti dragon pen
Jules Vern Pen
This was supposed to be a dragon pen post, but I loved this pen so much I had to post this as well. More info here.
Jules Vern Pen
spider pen
I know the lovely Stina likes spider pens, and I thought this one was really interesting. I’d recommend looking at all the pictures of it on the page. You’ll find them here.

PS. I’m still running an auction for a hand-knit pair of fingerless mittens here.

  1. Jules Vern Pen

Holy crap! I don’t even know what to do with that pen! It’s part phallic symbolism, part science fiction, part AWESOME.

    • I know! I know! I saw it and I *had* to post with it! It’s all that you said it is. And though I am buying myself a fancy pen at the end of the year, it is sadly out of my budget. Plus, I’m not convinced it would be comfortable to write with. Still. AMAZING LOOKING. And sometimes, it is all about teh Pretty!

  2. The Jules Verne pen is awesome. But they need to make a stainless steel version of it with cubic zirconia eyes and a WAY more reasonable price tag. =)

    • I think that’s an *excellent* suggestion! Sadly, I doubt they’re interested in providing pens to us plebeians who can’t afford the $18000 price tag. . .

  3. At least the Jules Verne pen is made by Dragon pens. It fits. 🙂

(I’m going to Pen Posse tomorrow. I’m bringing my Italians and Winedoc’s bringing his Maki-e, and we’re going to have fun.)

My wee collection can be found here.

    • Wow! I am so impressed with your collection! I have six. *G* I will add another pen to my collection at the end of this year, though.

How do you like the Stipula, in terms of writing? I’ve never tried one. While I love the look of some of the Visconti pens, I’ve been unimpressed with how they write. But that could just be me. *G*

  6. I really like the 2nd Visconti pen. And, of course, I heart squiddy. I’m also relieved that in this economy, they think people are capable of shelling out that much moolah. If I pay $18,000 for a pen, it will be because it killed someone about to butcher my family.

    • That second Visconti pen is really pretty. I wandered around looking at a lot of pens yesterday morning with Claire, and saw more than one that were very high priced, but oh so pretty! Like you, though, money would have to be no object what so ever before I purchased that expensive a pen.
