If you or someone you know is a fan of color who requires financial assistance to make Wiscon 2009 attendance a reality – including, but not limited to, funds for travel or membership, or needs for lodging during the con – please visit our requests post (comments are screened) and let your needs be known.

The fandom auction will be run March 18-April 13, 2009 to meet the needs of FOC who have expressed interest. A public list of needs, with recipient information privatized, can be viewed here; please check it out, particularly if you have lodging space available during the con.

    Those are awesome-looking fingerless mittens! Had Debby not just recently knitted me a pair (for sitar playing in cold environments), I’d be tempted….

      Aren’t they awesome looking? I’m so excited that I’m going to have a chance to make them! I’ve been hesitant about it — because I wouldn’t wear them. This is the perfect opportunity for me. I get to buy new yarn, knit something, and not feel guilty about it because it’s for a good cause!

      Though you know, you could always use a second pair. . . *G*

    Getting mittens and good cause!
    I know about the need to knit and have it appreciated; this is a great way to do so. You are inspiring me to knit something for Capclave (our local auction); we have a silent auction for the SFWA medical fund.
