An update

Well — I didn’t quite finish chapter 13 today. I did write approximately 2000 words today while on the airplane. However, I didn’t finish the chapter. I have one last scene to write, and it’ll be about 1000 words. I’ll finish it tomorrow, and for the rest of the week, I’ll write chapter 14.

If you want to sponsor me for the Clarion West Write-a-thon you can do so here.

As some of you may or may not know, I recently bought a Macbook Air. I’ve never owned a Mac, and it’s been at least 10 years since I used one on a regular basis. I knew that I’d have some frustrations with it — but honestly, I’ve had less than I thought I would. In addition, I was kind of shocked this morning. I have an old camera. I plugged it in, figuring I could start looking for the drivers I’d need.

But it worked. Without anything else. I just plugged it in and was able to download the pictures on it. I was (am) so impressed. Plug & play was always just a concept, not a reality, with PCs. With both my old camera and with my printer and the Mac, it’s been a reality.

I’m not a complete convert — the Mac still has some quirks and I haven’t been able to figure out everything that I want to do. But I have a better understanding why others are. And possibly I’ll be one eventually as well.

  1. i love macs. i don’t own one, however. switched to pcs when i got into the gaming industry and just kind of stayed. i suspect, however, that my next laptop will be a mac. i’ve no reason to stick with pcs — particularly after my lovely experiences with vista.

    • One of the main reasons I decided to get a Mac was because I refuse to let that virus that is Vista into my house. The timing just worked out that I ended up getting it sooner rather than later.
