Uhmmm — yeah. It’s been 4 weeks since I updated. Or even spent any time reading my FL. Sorry?

The day job has been crazy. At this point I believe that come Friday it will be calm again. At least until April. Then I’ll probably have another insane month.

I had a lovely time in Mpls with my dad and my brothers. It was very relaxing. I didn’t do much of anything. I did do a lot of work on the novel. I figure I’ll finish the rewrite by the end of January.

It’s also wonderful to be back here in Seattle. HOME. I thought a lot about that while I was gone. This place feels more like home than other places I’ve lived. Not because of the condo that I live in, but because of the neighborhood. Everything is so close, so convenient. I know that the neighborhood will potentially change, particularly if I do end up staying here for a long time. But I adore it. Even when stuff like this happens on my street corner. Eep!

I hope that the new year brings all of you an abundance of Good Things.

    • Thanks! I plan on staying in all day, and writing. (I refuse to go out to any stores today — I don’t think it’s right to make people work on holidays like today!)

      • Funny, that! I have a good friend who loves working the holidays (a nurse.) She gets paid triple time, only has to work an 8-hour shift of her choice, so she still has time for family gatherings. Straight-time minimum wage would not be so nice.

  1. Hey there, yourself! Thanks so much for the beautiful card, and a happy new year to you. 🙂

(and eep, indeed! good lord. hope they find the evildoer quickly.)

    • Thank you for the good wishes! I hope that you have a wonderful year. And I’m glad you liked the card.

    • It *is* scary. She lived in the building next to mine. However, they’re now thinking that it wasn’t a random thing, but that this guy not only knew her, he’d asked her out and she’d turned him down.

Still — am planning on being really vigilant — not like I’m not always, but even more so.

  2. Good to hear from you! And I’m glad that you’ve found a place that really feels like home, that is a wonderful feeling.

    • I’ve never had a place like this before. I do think that I was made for this level of urban living. I won’t want to go more urban than this. I’ve lived in the sticks as well, and just didn’t like it — not as much as I love living here.
