I decided yesterday to go to World Fantasy Con. I bought a membership from someone else and am taking their hotel reservation at one of the hotels that’s a bit away from the main con. I have my ticket — I’m flying in Thursday (and it’s going to take me most of the day — not arriving until late that night.) Then I’m flying out at the crack of dawn on Sunday. I got the ticket using frequent flyer miles, which makes me happy.

So I’ll be there for all day Friday and Saturday. I hope to see some of you!

As for the novel — I’m getting really close to being finished with the rewrites. Finally. I’m so close. But because it *is* my time, and I do have a weekend, and I’ve already put in four and a half hours, I’m thinking that it’s time for a nap. Because I can. And still finish this weekend.

In other travel — the weekend before WFC I’ll be in Portland. The lovely Cynthia and I are making a pilgrimage to Powell’s. Maybe we’ll see some of you then as well. I believe we’re driving down on Saturday, spending the night, then driving back on Sunday. Stay tuned for more info.

    • My annual fix is WisCon, and it always seems like it’s forever away. Have fun at MileHiCon though!

  1. Wonderful: I hope you will have a reading at WFC!

Enjoy Powells: it was the first spot in Portland I visited during a recent vacation there. Could have spent days in that place.

    • I figure it’s far too late to get into anything like that, though I will contact the BroadUniverse people and see if they’re doing a rapid fire reading. . .

I love Powells, though I haven’t been there for a few years. I’m looking forward to that too.
