I finished the rewrites for HARP OF STARS this morning, the first book in the Six Kingdoms trilogy. I’m going to print it out either later today or tomorrow and send it to my agent.

Final word count according to MS Word: 103, 821

I’m kind of wowed. I’m also really looking forward to starting the new book next week! (HARP OF LIGHT for those playing at home.)

I started HARP OF STARS on September 10th of last year. It only took me a year. It would have taken me less time, but life intervened a couple of times.

The book (hell, the trilogy) came from a writing prompt, “Write about someone who goes too far.” I’ve stayed true to that initial theme, because these novels are all about going to extremes. The first novel is about starting down that path, the second novel is actually going to those extremes, then the third novel is about having to come back and find some balance. Kind of wacky themes for these times, I know. *G*

But anyway — FINISHED. And it’s time to start the next one.

  1. Yippee!

Also: But anyway — FINISHED. And it’s time to start the next one.

I’m SOOO happy I don’t have books queued up in my skull waiting to get out. (And so happy that you do, you relentless writer, you!)

    • Actually, I’ve written the first two chapters of the next novel, as well as outlined chapter 3, and written the first 2000 words of chapter four (as I thought it was supposed to go into chapter two, but it didn’t.)
