Stuff

I didn’t go to JayCon this weekend — I decided that I’m so whacked out busy that spending the day driving to Portland and back would be sincerely crazy. Plus, the root canal I had last week has gotten infected, and I’m on antibiotics. (Which seem to be working — I am so much better. The swelling has gone down considerably. I think my high pain tolerance had masked how bad the infection had gotten, as I’m so used to being in pain, I didn’t really notice it, not until now that it’s diminished.)

I did write today. I finished chapter 11 and I got through chapter 12 (it only needed light edits.) I believe that the next few chapters will only require light edits — heavy edits won’t hit again until the very last chapter. (Or at least I’m hoping that’s the case.) According to the magic word count I’ve only added 100 words over the last two chapters, but I know I *replaced* a lot more words than that. This is one of those things that always perplexes me — how to measure progress when the word count doesn’t show it.

I went to the first Clarion party last night. It was great fun. It was also a really good set point for me. I stayed until 11:30, and was social most of the time. I couldn’t have done that last year – I wouldn’t have been physically or emotionally capable of that much interaction. It’s a real indicator for me as to how much better and healthier I am now.

I woke up this morning and did yoga first thing. Kind of odd, but it felt good. I may go walk a little this evening, but right now, I need to clean. And organize. And clean some more.

Hope ya’ll are having a wonderful weekend!

  1. It was nice to see you yesterday, even though all we did was wave to each other. Hah! But glad you had a good time — we did too.

    • Maybe one of these parties we’ll do more than just wave at each other. . . Of course, we could both go to a con out of state and probably spend a lot more time talking with each other. *G*
