It’s day 13 of this cold/sinus infection, and I can finally say that I’m feeling better. It’s taken a hell of a long time to get to this point though, and I’m still not 100% well. Yesterday I was probably about 65% well (which meant 35% still sick) until about 10 PM last night. Then I suddenly got this boost of energy and felt better. Today I figure I’m at about 85% well. I’m still congested and coughing, and my voice still plays hide and seek sometimes, but overall, I feel the most well that I have for 13 days.

And though I *am* feeling better, and it is SUNNY outside, I am still not going to do too much today. I need to clean my place, but I also know that would take a lot of physical energy that I shouldn’t waste. Instead, I’m going to watch movies and bad TV and not do a damn thing for one more day, hoping that by tomorrow, I’ll be even better, like say, 95% well.

I did write today, which is a wonderful thing. About 2000 words of chapter 14. They’re mostly good words, though I may need to interject something more into them, weave and build a little more. Still, I feel very good about it, even if I’m completely exhausted now.

So now — on with the continued laziness! I hope that ya’ll are doing well. I also have tomorrow off from work, so I figure I can clean then.

  1. Glad to hear that you’re feeling better.

Back when we first met at WisCon ’04, you tried to introduce me to an editor from TOR. She was in a horrible mood and wanted none of it! Do you remember what her name was?

    • Boy, I’m afraid that I don’t. Was it Debbie Notkin, perhaps? That’s the only female TOR editor who I know goes to WisCon on a regular basis. . .

  3. Oh, Leah, I’m so sorry you’ve been sick. Honna really has not been feeling well. I was just posting on her journal, and I linked in here.

Do you remember J.C. and me? We all met last in Washington D.C. I think? Gosh, I’m so glad to see you have an online journal going. I would like to “fire” one up when our work schedule eases up a bit. I think they look quite fun and useful.

I hope everything is going well for you. Are you still in Wyoming? Are you still writing for Roc?

    • This cold/sinus infection has just been insidious. I’m feeling better, but I’m still tiring very easily.

I do remember you both! I hope your schedule does ease up, as this is a way of staying in touch. I can’t say it’s a good way, for me, because there are times when I get busy and don’t read other people’s LJs, though I do try (and I did “friend” yours.)

Things are going well with me, though everything has changed since we last talked. I’m now single. I live in Seattle. I am not writing for Roc. I kind of took a break from writing, did a bunch of short fiction. Now I’m back in the swing of things. I’m writing a new novel, not historic fantasy, but a trilogy that’s all my own world. It’s been an amazing journey.

I hope that things are going well with you and JC. I know that you’re going to be part of a writer’s workshop out here — I’m still thinking about attending. Just not sure what I would get out of it. . .

Take care! Good to hear from you!
