I think the subject line sums up my current mood.

No additional writing on Thanksgiving day for various reasons. I also didn’t successfully marble any paper. The ink I bought just wouldn’t work with the mordant — it kept sinking instead of staying on the surface. So I broke down and bought a kit and will finish marbling my holiday cards some other time. I did use my watercolor paints on 25 cards. Some of them turned out really well. Others are more — experimental in nature. *G* I might save those for some other occasion.

Yesterday I did about 3000 words (17 handwritten pages.) More importantly, between the day before and yesterday I had a few major breakthroughs in terms of the second novel, as well as how to tweak parts of the first novel to make it better. (And there also have been Thoughts on the third novel, what has to happen there, which were very exciting.) As darksylvia and noodles_consort can attest, there was much glee as well as bouncing up and down in my chair while I described these. In vague terms, though — I still find that I can’t talk anywhere near as much about these novels as I have been able to talk about previous novels.

Now it’s time to get off Teh Internets and back to the writing. I hope to finish off this chapter today. I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen next, and while I find that scary sometimes, I also find it thrilling and compelling.

  1. I think I did about 30 words yesterday. But then again, got a proposal package together the day before, so it may just be melted brainmatter.

    • Sometimes the well just needs sometime to refill, you know?

Sounds like you’re getting back on track though. Best of luck with the class and everything today!

      • Yeah, last night did about 400. It’s starting to come again. But now I have to try to remember all that sailing slang I learned. And I still haven’t found a source for what I truly want. Sailing slang that refers to things beyond a ship, but also ship stuff. I’ve found books with terminology, but a lot of them are for parts of a ship, or that sort of thing. Some are very useful, but still not quite what I want. Still between all I’ve got, I should be able to manage reasonably. Sigh. But still I wish . . .

          • oh, that might be good! I’ll check it out. And feel better. I watched part of the Seahawks game last night. Could hardly believe the snow. My sister-in-law is in port angeles and apparently they got a foot. We got a dusting. But it was 0 when I got up this a.m.
