Update

I finished typing up all the handwritten words today. I was very close in my guestamite — four hand written pages really does equal about 1000 words for me.

Here is the word count so far:

I plan on finishing the rewrites to chapter one today, if I can, and sending it out to my reviewers. Saturday and Sunday I’m planning on writing all day, writing chapter three out by hand. This morning while I was stretching out the words for it started coming, so I think I’m finally ready to start it.

In non-novel news, I’ll be in CA the first week of November for work. Anyone want to get together for dinner or coffee or something?

Also, I will be attending WFC, arriving on Thursday and leaving on Monday (yes, flying from Texas to California that day.)

    • It’s been a great change for me, actually. I’m writing the first draft by hand, then typing it up. I’ve always been more of a rewriter than a writer. The hand written part is in some way an extended outline of the chapter, that in many ways I don’t really “write” until I type it up, if that makes any sense.
