Writing prompt

The prompt for today was, “Write about meeting someone for the first time.” It turned into a prose poem, from the first person POV of Therese, and the first time she met her lover Marta. I haven’t had the urge to play with words like that for *ages*, so I am very pleased. It’s day 6 of the headache — not sure what to do about that. I’m eating well, I’m sleeping (for the most part — Kiera did wake me up at 5 today.) I think it’s time to try a different migraine medicine because it’s just not as effective as it used to be.

  1. Ugh, migraines suck. I went through a spate of some nasty long ones a few years back, but very happily haven’t had one in over a year now. At the time, though, I was crazy grateful for my neurologist.

Oh, and where do all your writing prompts come from?

    🙂

    • Migraines do, indeed, suck.

My writing prompts come from “A Writer’s Book of Days” by Judy Reeves. It’s really a book for beginning writers, but it does have a prompt, one a day, for every day of the year. I’m doing a timed writing prompt, 30 minutes a day.

  2. have you considered the possibility that the migranes might be allergy-related?

I’ve been having some allergy-related stuffiness lately, so I know the pollen counts must be high right now around here…

your writing prompts are really cool, btw…

    • I did, actually, consider that. Took some allergy medicine. Didn’t help with the migraine though.

Glad you like the writing prompts. They’ve been very fun to do.

  5. Have you tried feverfew? It is one of the traditional remedies that has actually been tested in modern controlled trials. It helps about 50% of migraine sufferers.
